Children's Services
Objectives
The aim of TVRS Children's Services is to provide quality respite and social support opportunities to families of children with a disability living in the Tweed Shire.
For our young clients with a disability, we offer social and recreational opportunities for their enjoyment and quality of life during the period of respite.
Carer and sibling groups occur on a monthly basis.
Children's Services also seeks to support the client family's wellbeing, where respite can offer 'time out' for the carers, parents and siblings.
Target Group
Services are provided to children and young people with a disability, aged from 0 -17 years.

Children's Services allocates an amount annually to many families in the Tweed Shire. The families in the program can plan, with the Team Leader of Children's Services, to use those respite funds to find the most cost-effective options for respite events. These can include:
- In-home or out-of-home respite support (out-of-school hours)
- Weekend or evening community access
- Planned day outings in the school holidays, or on weekends
- Weekend or weekday overnight respite, using a Respite House
Children's Services utilises qualified staff with the assistance of volunteers. All personnel have been screened through a 'Working with Children' police check and fully trained by TVRS.
