Tweed Access Program
The Tweed Access Program (TAP) is a group funded program for adults with a disability aged 18 - 65 years. The TAP program provides opportunities for people to 'tap' into their local community through community access programs and also offers a wide variety of centre based activities.
Groups are run on no larger than a 5 clients to1 staff member ratio. Volunteers also assist in most programs.
Hours of Service: The TAP program operates Monday to Friday for 40 weeks of the year, excluding NSW school holidays. Limited social activities occur some evenings and on Saturday. Transport is available to people unable to access public or private transport.
Programs offered: Current programs offered run from the South Tweed HACC Centre and include:
- Mixed Media (painting, sculpture, pottery, collage and more)
- Cooking
- Brain Gym
- Yoga
- Gym program (community based)
- Community gardening programs (local radio station)
- Work experience (Fleays Wildlife Park)
- Tuesday evening social outings
- Netball
- Movie making
- Golf
Cost of programs:The cost of programs is $8 - $12 per day inclusive of transport.
